Resist The Devil And He Will Flee From You
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you
Day in and day out I find myself having negative conversations in my mind. This voice tells me I am not good enough, not worthy enough, or competent enough to do what God has called me to do. Am I alone? Is this just me?
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
We all have fears and anxiety but what we do with them is what matters. Anxiety and fear are not from God they are from Satan!
Philippians 4:6 tells us to be anxious for nothing.
I have struggled with anxiety for years and when I am closest to God and trusting in Him my anxiety is always better. I may not have any anxiety for years and then it will rear its ugly head. Sometimes we struggle with something or someone and through that pain, God will use it to get our attention and draw us closer to Him. No one can direct our lives better than God.
Bethlehem Church put out a song called Hush (you can listen below). I love the lyrics to this song. After having my seizures I played this song over and over again for at least two weeks, it still plays quite often. I just let it sink in my brain and my heart. When Satan tries to attack me, telling me we will never know why I had the seizures or anxiety that makes me so fearful that I don’t want to leave my house I start singing this song to myself. When I start singing guess what happens, Satan flees! Satan hates praise, he hates it when you worship. So friends worship your hearts out and watch the devil flee!
All these thoughts are like chains
The lies, regret, and shame
Keep thinking I’ll never change.
You say that I’m forgiven, you say I’m new
You say my past is buried, I’m alive in you
You say you are always with me, you’ll never leave me
When you said it is finished you set me free!
Every word that sends me running
Every voice that brings me pain
Every wall I build around me torn down in Jesus name!
I have a little room in our house that I use as my craft room/office but it’s mostly used for my quiet time with God every morning. Above my desk tapped to the wall are verses and meaningful comments I hear from people or in church. I refer to these often and many mornings as I sit at my desk I look up and start praying some of these verses over me or my family. One that I have on my wall is a photo of the full armor of God, I have recently started praying this over my family daily. Find your verses, tape them to the wall and pray over them often!
